Starting therapy has helped me see my job is a reoccurring source of trauma. I thrive on this work but at a cost. In the act of caring for people on the edge of death, with limited training on how to emotionally manage it, many of us develop trauma.
We don’t have sufficient mental health support for those of us who see what others can’t even bear to hear about. Our worst days would break most people.

My trauma is not because I am not strong enough - it is the failing of the system in not adequately supporting us.
There is freedom in hearing I’m not crazy, that what we see in healthcare is heavy, intense, exhausting, and overwhelming to the senses.

Our struggle with it is not a reflection of us - we need more support but instead we get computer modules to watch & suggestions to try yoga.
