Every script written by sheltered neolibs just degrades over time; as they deplete their reserves of other people's ideas, more insipid references start to creep up - instantly dated internet memes and political slogans, weird little details that are unnecessary and obvious.
Why is the #relatable protagonist a milquetoast beta male with boring taste in music and humor, constantly being shit on by more interesting characters? Because that is exactly what at least one (if not multiple) of the writers is. Most people do not relate to this type of person
Unless you've lived an extraordinarily interesting life (which is essentially no one writing corporate scripts these days) please stop trying to self-insert via your politics and your taste in pop culture. It's extremely boring and immersion-breaking.
Another thing I notice: ordinary people are always treated as a mindless mob with no concept of optics that you can manipulate with simple keywords. This seem true to life if your only interaction with real people is through social media.
"Do you wanna be the cuck, or do you wanna be the guy who fucks the wife?"

This line doesn't need to be in any script for any reason. Porn has better writing both dramatic and comedic.
Exchanges between characters become formulaic. Too many scenes consist of two characters having roughly the same exact conversation they've already had, and there is almost always crying. Motivations become muddled. Superficial contrarianism is pawned off as depth and mystery.
"Sometimes there are more important things than the right thing."

Why? Don't worry about it, just end the scene. Have a character give some edgy line about how they wish they gave up earlier because life is hard, repeat the same motivations already echoed throughout the script.
