From late 2019 until now, the OKCoin Open-Source Developer Grant program has provided over $500,000 to #Bitcoin core developers. 2/
Our first recipient, @fjahr, recognized limitations of the UTXO set, and focused on supporting and securing the disinflationary design of the #Bitcoin network. Now with #Coinstats, he focuses on examining the supply of Bitcoin and auditing for errors within the supply. 3/
@BtcpayServer has developed a self-hosted, open-source payment processor that makes it easy for merchants to offer #Bitcoin and crypto-purchasing options. Their latest advancement? A @Shopify integration! 4/
Our third grant recipient, @amizi's contributions have improved the network and continue to strengthen #bitcoin . Her work on the peer-to-peer (P2P) layer has improved the trust model by identifying how nodes were revealing sensitive information. 5/
Our most recent grant recipient, @MarcoFalke, is a #Bitcoin maintainer who's been the most active contributor to the Bitcoin Core code base since 2017. He is focused on the improvement of Bitcoin Core’s test infrastructure, which ensures the network's reliability and security. 6/
We've learned a lot over the past year:
1. These grants are critical but are not enough nor scalable
2. #Bitcoin development ultimately depends on passion
3. Open-source development is challenging but rewarding
4. The landscape is still young

What are we looking forward to? Too much to express on Twitter, but here are our 2021 resolutions... 8/
We'll continue to...
1. contribute financially to #Bitcoin dev.

2. partner with peer exchanges and institutions looking to support development.

3. explore new models and opportunities to bring direct and scalable support.

4. amplify the developers' work/passion/achievements.
There is so much to look forward to. We are committed to further focusing our efforts here to be a better partner to Bitcoin developers currently building our vibrant ecosystem. 🚀💙 /end
