I don’t own where i work - i don’t have the worries like some of my friends who do
I didn’t get an education but hospitality gave me a home
I felt needed and a chance,
outside of being made to feel a failure for not achieving at school
It breaks me to see what’s happening as I know how hard you have to work in this industry
It allowed my attitude to hard work to progress me- it allowed my hard work to lead to providing for my family - hospitality means more to Some of us than many understand
It allows the efforts to turn to opportunity for so many - we aren’t arguing against the deadly virus - we are asking for financial support so we have the chance to put our hard work and dreams back on track-give opportunities to those who like me felt school eduction didn’t work
. It provides to those that have been cast off from the mainstream educational/ work / university path something of meaning . It’s and avenue for so many - it provides opportunity to run your own business not to become the next Jeff bezos but because you can!
You can stand up on your own- provide for you and yours - but what is happening right now is drowning those aspirations
At the end of all this we will need the ideals of hospitality to pick up those that have fallen.
An opportunity to all
@RishiSunak Give the support to hospitality so hospitality can support those left behind by the narrow mainstream view of success
I’m glad there are those that can work from home - but we can’t and we all need to accept we need to look after each other for the greater good
