honestly i really wish that just once these institutions and their members would tell the corporate lawyers and crisis managers to shut up about liability, and say "we f***ed up bad. its obvious. we're sorry. we want to make it right, and we're gonna try."

its such a bummer to see folks who are brave in so many other contexts clam up instantly in the face of the only moment when your principles really matter: when you have skin in the game. folks who, personally and collectively, are setting an example for a lot of people. again.

there's a chance here for honesty, growth, reckoning, healing, improving, but it starts by not playing by the same old exhausting, heart breaking play book.
