Asuka is one of the greatest written characters in anime imo, Asukas backstory is the best in the series and it fits in well for her attitude. On my first watch of Evangelion, i didn’t really end up liking Asuka as a character overall at first but this was when I was a little
bit younger but later I watched it and completely misunderstood her character. I thought was a annoying character but is a actually very different person. There’s a lot of moments in the series where she is very nice, and she’s not a bad person. Asuka has moments where she gets
annoyed but I don’t think that makes her character worse, it’s just her way of protecting herself and because of her abrasive personality. I just feel like Asuka is a heavilymisunderstood character that does not get enough credit other than being just a
“Tsundere”. Asuka also dealing with abandonment issues and her slow spiral into despair as the show goes on to show how you could fake being okay but actually you’re not at all is very realistic and something people can relate to.
Asuka is a very nicely written complex character, easily relatable to. It helps show the viewers which is us our own insecurities and the differents ways that we handle life issues, how we react to certain events and also just life in general.
