Becoming addicted to the attention they get from the opposite gender changes some people so much they don't even realise they've completely changed as a person.
I'm referring specifically to excessively laughing/bantering /being open with lots of non mahrams. It slowly blackens the heart and imaan levels. Even if occasionally it's talking about the deen, shaytaan is at work.
You might feel good in the moment but your soul knows it's craves true peace. Shaytaan says, keep going, it makes you feel good, you'll feel better if you keep yourself distracted with excessive joking/banter but he lies. Learn to distinguish between your genuine thoughts &waswas
And there will be times when Allah makes people realise why they're not at peace the easy way. They can either accept it & make changes or not, but they'd be rejecting their own chance at feeling peace. But then the irony is that they'll complain (to themselves/others) about it
If you find that you're spending too much time on your phone/interacting with people and not enough time (or any time) talking to Allah and doing dhikr, then there's obviously a problem. It'll make you feel&be less productive in general too. Changes are needed to feel&be better.
If you feel like you're addicted to your phone & dont feel great about yourself, think about why you're so attached to your phone (& then minimise it).Take time away from your phone & work on yourself & your deen. Then when you're getting better, maybe bring it back in moderation
