James Robinson is a complete player. He creates space for himself. He's a very adept pass blocker, and a great route runner. He has great timing on his route release, helping him get LBs out of position. JRob gets low, and uses leverage to maximize his strength.
By doing so, he's able to get those extra yards and break tackles.

But it's not just his strength that has helped him be one of the top backs this year. Robinson has times his acceleration. He waits until he has a clear cut or an open hole, then busts through.
If running (or receiving) on the outside, he's very adept at that fake step, hiding his speed, and getting DBs out of position. He thinks with a defensive perspective. Where will the defender be? Then, how do I get past them?
Running with that kind of intelligence mitigates physical shortcomings. It heightens his skillset.

James Robinson really can do it all. The main concerns people bring up regarding JRob is his UDFA status, and the likelihood that the Jags bring someone in.
Those concerns shouldn't make you shy away from Robinson for multiple reasons:

First, Robinson doesn't need his current volume to be incredibly productive.

Second, his volume is sustainable. People look at his 95% touch share and his incredibly high snap rate and freak out.
There's no way JRob can sustain a 95% touch rate they say. Those people don't pay attention to context.

The Jaguars are a terrible team. They don't have a lot of possessions that go very far. There are simply not a lot of opportunities overall to have touches.
A 95% share for JRob comes out to about 20 touches per game. That's a good amount, but that's not considered a ton by any measure. For context, Jacobs averages more touches per game and has a touch share approximately 30% lower.
Don't fall into the trap of following false metrics.

Third, the Jaguars are not likely to draft a RB early or sign a prominent RB in FA.

The Jaguars are rebuilding, they are not going to use that much needed draft capital on a RB when they have needs all across the board.
Even so, any RB they bring in would have to be BETTER than JRob, to take away his lead role. If you can't tell from the stats above, that's pretty darn hard to do.
Spending on a big time RB would run contrary to what their current plan of action is, aka cutting Fournette and rocking with a cheap UDFA while they rebuild.

Fourth, JRob is incredibly cheap. He's outproducing his value. Any team would be foolish not to capitalize on that.
Fifth, there will likely be an addition at the RB position (not a top FA or top pick), and that person would be a serviceable backup. But JRob has proven he can handle 20 touches a game, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
If the Jaguars offense gets better, and they have more opportunities, having another running back would be good to take those ADDITIONAL touches, not touches away from JRob.

And even if JRob loses a few touches/game, many backs become more efficient with less work.
Sixth, if his UDFA status concerns you because not many UDFA's make it, well i'll tell you the list of UDFA's who have done what JRob has done contains very few names.

He has proven he can do a lot, with very little. He has shown no holes in his game. He has been elite all year.
James Robinson is the next MJD.
