Before you use, or subscribe to @Baremetrics, please make sure you read this. This happened today. I went to their app to try & unsubscribe because we feel that Stripe's own dashboard is good enough for us after they added reporting specifically.

Few clicks around, I saw this:
I thought ok, not cool but I understand. I will just email them instead, I don't wish to make a call to unsubscribe. I asked nicely over email, and they responded nicely but they said they need me on a call because they want to make sure our data is deleted. Huh? 🤔
I got annoyed. I answered with a direct demand asking them to cancel our account, saying that it is our right. I am asking them to unsubscribe us and not charging us anymore because we are not using their product in the future. I am not asking for a refund at all here.
Nope. The only way to unsubscribe is through a call. WOW. So let's just elaborate, this means that if I don't jump on a call, I will be charged for eternity for NOT using their software. Huh?????? 🤔

I sent yet another angry customer email, and then Brian, replied:
As a technical person, I can smell ALOT of BS in this email. You can't delete my data safely unless I am on a call? 🤔 I decided to respond, perhaps I was a bit too harsh, perhaps at parts sarcastic, but come on, we can't let this happen.

Then I replied:
Now the bigger question here is to @stripe , do you allow an app that's built on your platform to act in this way? More importantly, do you have continuous due diligence done on your partners that you list on your page? ( https://stripe.com/partners/baremetrics)
@Octopodsio is built entirely on top of @intercom , and we know SO well what it takes to build a business on top of a platform. Everyday, whenever I respond to a customer, I think of @intercom's brand, I think of what my actions can lead to in terms of consequences....
on a company that generously let me & the team build a business on top of their platform, I think of our customers who deserve to be treated fairly and with decency. @stripe , did @Baremetrics think of this when dealing with us today?
I follow @Shpigford and love everything he does / did with Baremterics + the transparency movement. I was SO happy for him when the company got acquired. I still am. But it seems after the company has been sold, it has been dramatically transformed to work against entrepreneurs.
Just in. Double Wow.
