When I saw how TikTok was growing, I knew something would happen to Twitter & IG as a response. I’m not surprised they made their own video outputs, but the IG algorithm requirements are RIDICULOUS. And do I have a huge IG following? No, because I never invested myself in creating a platfrom because playing hashtag games and whatnot. None of it was of value to me. I have a family to care for and work to make and I love connecting with fellow creators, but not at that cost.
All of this to say: Focus on making your stories and your art, and share across platforms that work for you, NOT that YOU WORK FOR. Live a life so you have a well to create from. Please do not fall into these traps of becoming a cog in the social media machine.
