There is so much irony in schools of thought be old or new, mainly since ‘new age’ is highly reliant on historical data, most of which is drummed up in a lab (old)or previous games (old).

Im a firm believer in FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS to ones sport that are unchanging and constant.
I think the challenges of analytics / data are that they cannot teach you anything alone, it can only show you what you have done, & struggles to create an adaptive dialogue of what needs to be done, since there are vast ways interpretation may occur with the human brain.
Rather than ‘old or new’, continually educating aspiring players on the foundations of sport & the context of competition (rules), will & should always be status quo.

Foundational concepts arent predicated on ‘old or new’...as mentioned their foundational. The wheel exists...
I think the most valuable opportunities we can offer the current generation is truly helping them identify what competition really means in every sense of the sport, so they can really dial in function to their training.
In the end, and this purely just based on observation and what I see. When I see people saying new new new it always strikes me as sell sell sell as if we’ve unearthed this diamond in the rough mantra or a validation of “growth mindset”. Could just be the vibe 🤷‍♂️
In the end, kudos to all the coaches and developers continuing to better themselves & learn as much as they can to ultimately help players apply foundational concepts to their in game ability.

Cheers to the up & coming players that we can further identify how we compete!
