So here is the new chart. All a handful of Progressives need to do is vote for someone other than Nancy Pelosi. Anyone really. Then a new speaker will be presented. The only way she can possibly win is if she convinces Republicans to vote for her.

Democrats will ask her to step down before it comes to that. They will see that there is no path and present themselves. There is absolutely no danger of a Republican winning.

If they really want positions of power they will adopt this plan. It’s really up to them. With PAYGO in power they have no leverage to help anyone.

Now I know that I would love Lee to be speaker. She can try, but someone less progressive and less corporate will most likely win.

Then they get to negotiate committee positions, floor votes, abolishing PAYGO.

Several names have been up but I’m sure many would love the position. If they feel they can’t work with them they simply don’t vote for them. Remember they ran for office to create change Pelosi will not allow them the chance.
