As many provinces go into Lockdown 2.0, it's probably time to further acknowledge how classist/ableist it actually is to blindly close or restrict public washroom access
I want to suggest that a large majority of public washroom access is either fastfood/cafe based or park/public land based in cities. Of course there are groceries & hotels too.
So what the sweet fuck do you do when everywhere starts closing due to lack of winterizing (parks) & shops become stringent and close public access?
I haven't experienced access issues in Halifax. But how distressing would it be right now to live in a heavily restricted prov like Ontario.

It's really gross to run into someone publicly peeing (or otherwise) but fr how distressing must it to be on the other side of things as a person with a medical need for frequent or rapid bathroom access, or as someone with unsecure housing that spends most of their time outside
So honestly when all the pandemic chaos blows over and we put the umpteen portable toilets away, can we just make free, year round, easily accessible public washrooms a normal thing? In the sake of having cute towns & cities when did we forget that everybody has to go? V confused
