I like to give credit where credit is due. Mark Chalmers and Jeff Klenda have been both ferociously criticized and adamantly supported throughout this process. At the end of all of this, they accomplished something pretty cool. (3/x)
They played the long game and now all of us Americans have something nice to show for it. They’ve made valid points about national security and geopolitical risk. The utilities also had valid concerns along the way. (4/x)
The reserve solution appears to be supported by both miners and utilities. A truly practical solution. I think government is kind of a disaster in general, but government got it right this time. The process worked (very slowly!) and everyone involved can be proud. (5/5)
