this is the only tweet/thread I will make about this and then I will stfu about it forever. The fact that Asians are no longer legally considered people of color pisses me off more than I can say.

I like the spirit of Affirmative Action. I truly do. I think that in order to achieve true social equality, we have to make allowances to everyone. But why wouldn’t you put more effort to addressing the cause of this rather than simply deal with the effects? Nip it in the bud!

Instead of manipulating data points to prove a conclusion, use this money and resources to actually fix it. Of course Asians face racism, and by lumping them in with White people is so profoundly unfair to every Asian.

This is not to say we face the same extent of racism as other minority groups, but it is racism nonetheless.

Basically, the point is that Asians are a minority. You can make the case that Asians are over represented in universities, but we are a minority nonetheless. Lumping us in with white people feels like a cop out.
