@Soumyadipta After 28 years of Sister Abhayas murder in Kottayam, Kerala.. She will finally get justice tomorrow when the sentence for the guilty (accused no 1 a father in church & accused no 3 a sister) will be pronounced.
Small thread for some facts in this case.
Thread begins.
The sentence already pronounced.

Life sentence for both the accused.

However, though it seems.. justice is done,The fact remains justice delayed ( or delayed too much, as in this case..28 years) is justice denied.

Abhayas parents died in despair long back, before justice done.
The local kerala police investigated this case for few days & Crime Branch Kerala for few months. Both pronounced it as a suicide. Case closed.

The case later was transferred to CBI.

This was done by mostly single handed efforts of one Mr Jomon ( who didn't even knew Abhaya)
CBI presented 3 reports, one of which accepted suicide theory.

CBI DSP Vergese P Thomas was the first officer to call it a murder. He eventually resigned from CBI due to differences with senior officers.

He had tears in his eyes when the verdict was pronounced y'day.
Jomon fought the case for life, day in & day out.

He was so happy yesterday that he said, now, even if I die tomorrow I don't regret.

Abhayas teacher also testified against the accusers from the start of the case till end. Most witnesses turned hostile in this long run case.
Case saw many CBI officers taking charge, it was CBI officer Nandan Nair (perhaps 16 th officer) who filed chargesheet within 18 days of his taking charge.

Witnesses getting hostile continued throughout the years except for few, among them most interesting is ' Adakka Raju'
'Adakka Raju' had entered the church premises, place of crime on the early morning of day of crime for theft.

He identified both accused in the court. He was offered huge fortune for not identifying.

He denied. Sticked to truth.
And left stealing after being witness in the case
Sister Abhaya entered kitchen at early morning. She saw both the accused in compromising position.

Fearing their truth may come out, the crime was commenced by both accused & threw her body into the well.

The powerful church lobby put their entire weight & power to save them..
I haven't sticked to exact chronology or dates or names of the accused/ witnesses here. This can well be googled

The point for sharing this story is despite heavy, powerful, rich lobby wanting the case to be closed & dismissed without conclusions, the truth prevailed..
Although I strongly believe that justice delayed is justice denied, the fact remains that if few determined people persue any case till the conclusion, the result do come.. however late it becomes. 28 years in this case.

Something similar is happening presently in @itsSSR case..
The only person I tagged in this thread is @Soumyadipta, though there are millions putting their heart & soul out to get justice for @itsSSR.

@Soumyadipta seems to be Jomon ( of Abhaya case) in this case persuing for a logical conclusion.
I wish justice served soon in @itsSSR
