10 Beginner Mistakes on Instagram!

// Thread //
1. Buying Fake Followers / Celebrity Giveaways

It's such a dumb move, this will absolutely ruin your growth for the long term.

Giveaways will give you a lot of followers but people will eventually unfollow you because they are not your target audience.
2. Not Having Social Proof

If you are a personal brand, having social proof is a must.

You can put your testimonials, client results, and business tips into story highlights, and that way you can show people that you know your shit.

Always have that, it will help you a lot.
3. Posting Content Out of Your Niche

Posting content that's out of your niche can ruin your account because your followers are here to consume your content.

Don't post about real estate if your account is based on something else.
4. Focusing Just on Organic Growth

Sure organic growth is good, you will kill yourself if you want to build a big community just with organic growth.

I suggest you to start investing in shoutouts or ads if you want to grow your account on a bigger scale.
5. Spamming Your Offers

Don't spam your followers with your offers all the time, let them breathe.

Promote your offers but don't make all of your content based on you selling the offer to your followers, people won't like that.
6. Thinking Hashtags Alone Will Grow Your Account

It just won't happen. I'm getting my client 200K reach per photo by just using shoutouts + quality content that resonates with their audience.

You don't need hashtags, you can grow without them.
7. You Don't Have a Posting Schedule

Of course, being consistent will help you out, it won't alone help you with growth but if followers are coming to your profile and if you are growing daily, posting daily will help you out.
8. Using Automation Services

This one is a tricky one. Use Creator Studio for scheduling your posts but I wouldn't recommend using tools that are out of Instagram's native platform.

You can get banned and it can cost you BIG TIME.
9. Not Checking Your Post Insights

Always check your post insights and engagement as well as test other types of content.

This way you can see what works, you can post more of that and you can see what doesn't work as well.

Double down on what works.

"The stats don't lie."
10. You Are not Driving Traffic Anywhere

Some of my pages get a shit ton of visitors per month, why would I not have a link in my bio to drive that traffic to my landing page or to my offers?

Always put CTA in your bio to your link it will help you a lot.
Whatever you have in that CTA, it will help you, trust me.

- Schedule a call with me
- Landing page to an info product
- Your Business Website

Put something that's important for your business in your link in bio along with CTA with it.
