My life mantra is PMA (Positive Mental Attitude).
Here's the story behind it and how I use it today:
Here's the story behind it and how I use it today:
1/ In third grade, I auditioned for a competitive hip-hop dance group. My grandpa called me to wish me luck, and introduced me to the acronym PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) and the power of positive thinking.
I wrote PMA in chalk on my driveway right before the audition.

2/ Ever since the third grade, I've written PMA across the top of every test or quiz I've taken. It's a way for me to recognize my hard work and channel positive energy.
Sometimes I would write PMA across the top of a test 20 times. My teachers loved it. They called me Miss PMA.

3/ Three syllables, one acronym paused my self-competing marathon.
Now when my inner critic talks in my head, my hand automatically writes PMA.

4/ I'm no longer in school. I don't take any quizzes or tests, or write any essays or research papers.
I write a recommendations newsletter called @SidekickMB by @MorningBrew.
Before every send, I either write down PMA on a piece of paper or say it to myself.

5/ Like Norman Peale’s quote, “Change your thoughts, and you change your world,” I was in the passenger seat as my family, friends & teachers watched my positive attitude change my life.
PMA is with me every day. I hope this thread reminds you to always believe in yourself :)
