Seeing so many people tweet in support of @mulaney heartwarming.

Two suggestions to reduce stigma:

Replace "sobriety" with recovery. Sobriety is only one path of many options.

Purge your lexicon from drug *abuse*. Using drugs doesn't make you an "abusive" person or "abuser."
It might be that the person in addiction or recovery uses these terms, or "addict" and other stigmatizing phrases. That's *their* prerogative. It's our job to create a destigmatizing environment that signals that seeking help won't come with social sanction. Language matters.
Sobriety within of itself is not a stigmatizing term. It is a specific term and not a synonym to recovery. For many people, recovery does not equal sobriety and that's more than okay. That's great! As long as they are well. So let's not make assumptions.
Agood example of a well meaning but bad tweet.

"alcohol and cocaine abuse" - "abuse" is moralized. Use disorder.

"who got sober at 23" - consider "started path to recovery at 23."

"Cooperating" -- never heard this used in context of a dialysis clinic. https://twitter.com/TheAffinityMag/status/1341132947630469120
