A friend just called. She works at a clinic in Indiana, in a county that voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump. Her clinic has received a supply of the vaccine, and the procedure is for their employees to sign up online for an appointment.

They are administering 24/7. My friend’s appointment was for next week, but she got a call over the weekend from the vaccine coordinator asking if she could come in right away, as they had had several no-shows and were panicked about any vaccine going to waste.

While getting her shot, my friend was told that only 60 of the 109 frontline workers in their clinic had signed up to be vaccinated, so she took a list of of employees home with her and started making phone calls.

While a few people said yes, they would go right in and get vaccinated, almost all of the people she called said no, they were not wiling to be vaccinated because either (a) it’s really just a bad flu, and/or (b) they don’t trust the vaccine because of politics.

THIS is what Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and every single GOP congressman, senator, and governor who’ve downplayed this virus have wrought. They made fun of masks. They used this pandemic for their political gain. Monsters. A lifetime in prison would be too good for them.
