I turned 41 today. Here are some of things I learned over the years.

1. Learn from your past mistakes but not to the detriment of the present. Don’t live in the past and then wallow. Moving on and making the most now is better than thinking about the “What Ifs”

2. You are not always correct. Most of the time you are wrong. There’s nothing wrong with admitting you could be wrong.

3. Brand loyalty is silly. You evolve over time and so does your taste. Liking things you don’t like when you are younger now is not a crime.

4. There is no such thing as “The Best Phone You Need To Buy Now”. In most cases a good phone for you is a bad fit for others. Don’t push people into buying into your fandboyism.

5. Android is still better than iOS for most people. Flexibility always win over everything else. You just pay more for things that would work 99% of the time over 95% of the time. Is it worth that 4% more? You decide

6.I use both Android and iOS because I can afford it not because I really believe in living in tech agnosticism.

7. Find you top friends like in MySpace. You only need 5 of them by the time you are 30. These 5 will be there for you till the end if you reciprocate.

8. Passion can only fuel you until you have responsibilities. Don’t hate on people who chose money over artistic integrity.

9. Money can buy happiness and a lot more. I have never met a happy poor person. They are hanya menyedapkan hati. I’ve met many happy rich sunavabitches.

10. Gaming is life. 35 years later gaming is still the best stress reliever especially when playing solo.

11. I no longer understand FIFA and NBA2K games. They are not as good as the early 2000’s iterations I played.

12. Find that one person who believes in you. Marry them if you can. Marrying one changed my fortunes and the way I see things.

13. Never pay attention to people who hate you. It’s not worth wasting your energy. Use the same energy to beat up people in Tekken instead.

14. Half Life 3 ain’t coming anytime soon. Commandos in the other hand deserves a remake by Pyro Studios.

15. Sega GENESIS is the best console ever. Don’t @ me.

16. Don’t try to be popular in school. No one cares after you left school anyway.

17. Social media is a mistake and should be disinvented.

18. Free online media is also a mistake. News should be paid for. I am responsible for the demise of my own profession within the next 2 generations.

19. No one gives a shit about your grammar except pedants.

20. Read more books. Do it before you go to bed. You’ll get better dreams.

21. Physical books are dead. Digital all the way.

22. Get rich quickly but ethically. If you can’t do it ethically please have good lawyers on long term retainers.

23. Enjoy the music of your youth. They are time machines. Listen to music of today’s youth so you can have time machine to NOW 20 years down the line.

24. If you can, love your parents. Say sorry to them when you’re older for being an annoying little fuck when you were teenagers.
