Has anyone ever had an issue doing a trade in with @apple and having them find damage that they never existed before they got the traded in device into their hands? Seems like something I'd expect from a sleaze company and not apple.
2/ So on with them now, it turns out they use "trusted partners" to do fulfillment on the trade-ins. So the outsourced company can I guess either break it or report damage to stiff you on the price.
3/ So the 'trusted partner' is called "Phobio", because I guess they needed a name that make it clear it was a company you should be afraid of. Anyway, Apple immediately goes to the terms and conditions which apparently makes clear that when you do a trade-in ...
4/ with Apple you're actually sending the device to Phobio and they don't stand behind the process. They send you off to these Phobio sheisters.
5/ So I've now learned a lot about this. When you do a trade-in with @apple (I was trading in a Macbook Pro) Apple doesn't do it or take responsibility for it. They do it through a company called "Phobio" and if you do a simple web search Phobio is notorious for various ...
6/ fraudulent behavior. Making up damage, actually damaging machines, etc etc. Basically I would strongly advise people never to do any kind of trade-in with Apple. They hand you off to a shady company and then won't stand behind the process.
