Pre-Covid life won't be back. Period. We'll have post-Covid life. It'll be less restrictive than Covid pandemic life. But the before times are gone.
I think the "I can't wait to get back to normal" thing speaks to how we, as Americans, are crap at dealing with loss, grief and mourning. We're terrible at sitting with uncomfortable feelings. Of course, we just want to pretend that life altering change hasn't happened.
But it has folks. It has. And there ain't no going back. Prepare for 2021 to look a lot like 2020. Make peace with the truth that post-Covid life won't look exactly like pre-Covid life. You'll have a bit less stress and disappointment if you do.
