Kevin was born in Drongen, Belgium in 1991 and began his youth career for the local team (KVV Drongen) from 1997 to 1999 where he then switched to Gent for the next 5-6 years. In 2005 he made his last youth switch to Genk which saw him play for 3 years under their youth system.
