The 6 Bakhshisha'n of the Udasi-Sikh Sampardaya [Thread].
The Udasin Sampardaya was first created by Baba Sri Chand, the eldest son of Guru Nanak Sahib, who personally witnessed the Guru-ship of the first 6 Gurus.
The eldest son of Guru Hargobind Sahib, Baba Gurditta, became a devoted follower of Baba Sri Chand, and upon their respective passing, became the second spiritual leader of the Udasin Sampardaye.
Four loyal disciples of Baba Gurditta - Balu Hasna, Almast, PhulShah, and Goinda, were appointed by Baba Gurditta as spiritual leaders of the Udasin tradition, they came to be known as the four 'Dhoonas' of the Udasin Panth, who were...
...created in order to proliferate the Sikh philosophy throughout the known world, to teach others the true way of life, and essentially engage in missionary work on behalf of the Sikh Guru Sahibs.
Alongside these four groups, were the six 'Bakhshish' of the Udasin tradition, who were also blessed by the Guru(s) themselves to continue their missionary work.
3 of these Bakhshishes were blessed and appointed by Guru Har Rai - Suthre Shahiye, Sangat Sahibiye/Bhai Feru Ke, and Bhagat Bhanvaaiye. In addition, Guru Tegh Bahadaur, the 9th Sikh Guru, created 1 more Bakhshish, while Guru Gobind Singh created 2.
Guru Har Rai's Udasin Bakhshisha'n: Suthre Shahi, Sangat Sahib, Bhagat Bhagvaan

Guru Tegh Bahadaur's Udasin Bakhshish: Meea'n Shah

Guru Gobind Singh's Udasin Bakhshiha'n: Jeet Mal, Bakhat Mal
This makes 10 traditional divisions of the Udasin Sampardaya: 4 Dhoonas and 6 Bakhshishan, who were created and blessed by the Guru Sahibs themselves.
Guru Har Rai, in their infinite divine wisdom, re-organized the Udasi ascetic tradition, and blessed (hence their name, Bakhshisha'n) the aforementioned 4 Dhoonas and 3 Bakhshishes, and utilised them for the proselytisation of the Dharma.
The Udasi Sampardaya is an inseparable facet of the Sikh tradition. There are those in the contemporary era who, in their shortcomings of nuance and history, have attempted to deny this fact, but the truth shall always reveal itself.
The Udasis were directly blessed and appointed by the Guru Sahibs, who are we to deny their legitimacy?
