Catcher Bug - Currect age: 30 (1/?)

Born into a small tribe in Gyr Abania, Catcher’s childhood years were spent under Garlean rule. But too young to understand, instead his life is ruled by the petty social politics of a seeker tribe deep in the mountains. (2/?)

Clear from a young age that he has a gift with healing, he’s taken under his Nunh’s wing, and helps him stay in power way longer than he should. His nunh is, honestly, a GIANT shitbag. (3/?)

But Catcher doesn’t see it that way. It’s not a healthy relationship, it’s toxic through and through, and when his tribe finally turns on the nunh under the pressures of war, Catcher is cast into the wilds of Gyr Abania. (4/?)

He’s still just a kid at this point, 10 or so, and by all accounts should have died out in the wild. He’s instead by a roegadyn by the name of Giving River who finds him wandering the mountains, and taken in by him and his band of refugees fleeing the country to Ul’dah. (6/?)

He’s raised by this ragtag group, his whole family a kaleidoscope of persons, living out in the the deserts of Thanalan and Pearl Lane when the calamity happens. At age 15, the amount of refugees in Ul’dah continues to swell. (7/?)

I need everyone to know this cat grew up in an enviroment where personal space is laughable, privacy is a myth, and if that doesn’t answer every question about “why are you like that” I don’t know what to say (8/?)

... I glazed right over the fact that he picked his own name. He picked his own name when he is young! He learns alchemy from the hands of the people around him as a teen, and mid-puberty goes to his dad and they find someone to teach him how to make his own hormones. (9/?)

He’s set down conjury for years and years, since he left Gyr Abania. Refuses to touch it. Instead, he takes up the sword and shield and begins mercenary work with his family. Circumstances be damned, they’re happy. (11/13)

Around 23-ish? Is when he received the echo. It’s a quiet thing, like a rumbling in the back of his head he doesn’t know how to deal with for a long, long time. His hair starts to grow out white, and he gets freckles like stars (which I miss having on him). (12/13)

Nergui comes to Ul’dah, and Catcher in his infinite wisdom sees a big strong man and can’t NOT get to know him. And through power of annoying persistence they become a mercenary team. And Nergui is considered family by Catcher’s much to Nergui’s chagrin. (13/13)
