Talking with you lot for extended periods, I end up sympathising with the fear and trembling over what nefarious influence Nietzsche and Foucault may have over our timid little worlds
The incessant "OMG have you SEEN what the media are saying now????" speaks of the dead God. We don't honestly believe we're all individually flawed gnostic nodes haphazardly grasping on true intuition and divine order.
But we'll engage most coherently with each-other in the same way we'll engage with those things - in perpetual wormlike shock that the Higher Order is not providing intrinsic Justice
The world is made by us. It always was. But despite all our cultivated alienation - internally sublimated into wisdom - we return to each other and commune as if we were born yesterday. "Isn't it fucked up?" yes my friend, wasn't it better before :)))
I think the most poisonous piece of the ideological puzzle is 'evolution'
Biological taxonomy always did my head in. "Biology" was the least 'scientific' of all the sciences. But it's fundamental in backing up the arc of history fundamentally bending towards justice. As my ex used to say "in the technology of it, all science is pseudoscience"
The reason we laugh with contempt at people who wish we could simply wind the clock back to 1999 or 2012 is not simply because they had it so good then and will continue to do so relatively speaking - it's because the world changes. Everything changes.
You may not feel like you've acted consciously towards anything commensurate to your present condition in living memory: this is alienation. We are all participants in the world. It stops at our convenience with one lonely cut. Dirt knows this. You know this.
Or rather: dirt doesn't need to know it because it happens anyway. But it depends on where and how the dirt is and what forces are effected on it. There is no promise that the dirt will someday become a golem, or that you will someday own a house.
You were barely fucking living in the first place but new pressures came to bear and you changed. A similar thing happened to loads of concrete over a different order of time. A similar thing happened to a virus, different order of time.
There is no totalising science which allows you to sit back and idly contemplate the inevitable beauty of what is to come: that's God. You're like the dirt and the virus: you respond to changes and act differently. Units of dirt and virus are hard to relate: so are families
So is the person you were 5 years ago from the person now who may contain or reject or ignore that other completely. But you must at least see that whether you live or die or your ideal of the world greatens or shrinks, you are in it and the patterns are with you.
This has been a drunk misanthropic rant brought to you in large part by my irrational resentment at you lots irrational desire to comfort each-other with counter-revolutionary truisms
