Childlessness is making our politics insane because people have no higher loyalty to anything but a dumb political ideology, whether that is cringe libertarianism or even more cringe "conservatarianism" or leftoidism 1/
Granted, there are worse types like David French, who are willing to offer up their children on the altar of ideology. But the childlessness issue is real and apparent. Political affiliation becomes like family for so many people 2/
I don't want my children growing up in a concrete billion person jungle and I don't care about your liberty club or humanitarian club. I want to crush whatever obstacles and sacred cows and ideologies threaten a better future for my family 3/
But if you're a childless leftoid or a childless libertarian who dreams only of owning the libs or festishizing foreigners, what do you care for posterity? 4/
Ultimately debates with losers from clubs and corners of different movements don't matter. What matters is who is willing to take power and use that power to improve the lives of people and posterity. Ideas have consequences but who holds power is most consequential of all 5/
Families are the building blocks of nations. It's only natural that people without families don't care about things like identity or nations. "America as an open air bazaar? That sounds great! GDP/virtue signaling go brrr" 6/
Obviously no offense to people who physically cannot have children, and childlessness is not the *only* or perhaps even primary reason our politics are insane, but it is a factor and it does not get considered much 7/
