v imp (if confusing for some) discussion. when ppl say "white ppl do x", unless the word "all" is in there, they're not talking about all white ppl. similar to when ppl say "men do x" - usually not abt all men.

ex: "white people colonized north america." a true statement. does it mean all white ppl colonized america? no.
