Wonderful to see a focus on reducing inequities for the health of indigenous children across Australia & Aotearoa NZ, by the @TheRACP. Specifically, the statements calls for physicians to:
1. learn the colonial history of your country
2. recognise the strength and resilience of Māori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities

3. Understand how privilege and institutional racism operates within healthcare systems and be open to naming it.
There are obvs systems/structures that need improving, but it’s an encouraging call and couldn’t come fast enough. Every child deserves the best start possible.
