Chelsea easily have the players to be winning this league. Lampard's gotta go if he doesn't improve their structural issues. He also wasted a bomb on Havertz only to totally misuse him. But sure I told you all about this before the season started. Not even £250m masks his issues.
Chelsea's press isn't good enough nor is their build-up good enough. They'll get away with it a lot of the time because their individual quality/general offensive balance is really good but the wide players need to be inverted to press the play + build-up lacks 2nd phase presence
This means that, from a structural perspective, Chelsea are easily pressed, easy to keep the ball against, & easy to exploit in defensive transition (also because they lack a 2nd phase presence in defensive transition). However their team is incredible so it masks a lot of flaws.
