*NEW* Seahawks Mic'd Up Detective
Thread.
This time I'm looking at Pete Carroll's
segment versus the New York Jets.
It was fantastic to see the Seattle Head Coach at work.

"Let's know what happened, they ran the ball up the C-Gap really well."
This is from very early in the game, the New York Jets' first drive. Pete Carroll clearly wanting to check how certain runs hit

I'd guess he's talking first play, where Frank Gore got 11 yards on the wide zone cutback
It hit the B-Gap. Bear front. Meh from 3t L.J. Collier. Backside lever Jamal Adams cheating on boot and not showing up. From SEA SL this might have looked like C-Gap

Pete Carroll matches the viewing experience that any Seahawks fan goes through when watching Russell Wilson.
Mutters about the cloud corners and the look still being right for the TE seam. Screams about the TE being open. "Oh Russ!" Still a TD

It's funny how Pete Carroll said to Wilson about not even seeing the TE post-TD.
Wilson did in fact look at the TE but appeared scared of the high hole defender breaking on the ball + potentially the 1/2 def to that side. Spin to Tampa 2 Invert from 1hi

"Hey Schotty, what's good to remember is you made 14 on a stick route."
An interesting note from Carroll to his OC. Wanted to keep mixing in the quick game concepts, especially after the Giants L and Wilson not taking that open seam downfield

Here's the 14-yarder via stick. It's a Seattle favorite quick game concept, particularly vs. MFO zone.
We've seen Metcalf on it lately. I like how they confirm zone + dress it up with Lockett's return orbit
They also called stick later; RW hit it vs. MFC

Carroll has revealed he suggests calls to DC Ken Norton Jr.
Here he gives him the OK on a blitz designed to stuff the run.
PC is anxious for Wagner to get more frontside.
Also compliments Wright on a "hammer check" when SEA gets off the field

TE shifted sides: I imagine K.J. executed the "hammer check" The OG blitz was likely designed for him to chase a boot or run away to the field. This check put him back as the force + let Wagner blitz - almost got caught too central but Ford wrecked his 1v1

Pre-snap, into headset: "That's a long fricking way for that number 2 weak now."
Post-snap, to Ugo Amadi: "Nice job, nice job."
You'll see how wide the split of #2 is to the field. A long way for Ugo or for Darnold? Or in general?

SEA Cover 2 simulated pressure from their Nickel Even Double A-Gap front
Sending Adams, they get 3 rushers from BNDRY
Ugo spins, playing a "Ranger 1/2" to the field. Darnold wanted #2 Berrios in the high hole. Ugo speed-turned to recover leverage for PBU

Another relatable Carroll clip. The concern in his "ohhh" when the Jets throw a wide receiver screen is something a lot of fans will have felt in certain third and long situations. His celebration of Ugo Amadi's tackle features some relief

Yes, it's 3rd and 21.
However, look how far off SEA was playing in their Cover 3 Sticks Weak Buzz defense. Focus on Griffin's cushion.
By throwing it to the outside WR, buzz defender Ugo faced 2 blocks. He managed to make them both miss + avert disaster

Amusing, wholesome Pete Carroll with Tyler Lockett after the New York Jets busted a coverage leaving Lockett wide open for 15 yards.

I previously thought this was a C6 bust, but Pete Carroll describing it as "supposed to be 2 man but they dropped you" makes sense.
Clearly, NYJ busted their 2 man check to the trips bunch. No one took Lockett's route inside. Route to the flat drew eyes
