Quick thought: Before I got my first job I was super fixated on getting a big response with my work on social media, chasing the "it" factor others had, and it never really happened. I thought it meant I wasn't good enough and indicative that I couldn't/wouldn't get hired. (1/3)
But I was hired without having a large social media following and know many phenomenal artists in the industry without large followings and they're working just fine. And once I started getting hired performing well on social media started to mean less and less to me. (2/3)
I know it's been said a million times, but do your best to put out the best work you can and the work you enjoy making the most. A large following can of course help you get work, but it's not necessary. A lot of artists in the industry are proof of that. (3/3)
