1/ I'm beginning to get worried. It's starting to feel like the Iraq dossier all over again. I knew the Iraq stuff was bullshit at the time because it had the structure of bullshit.
2/ The structure of bullshit is data being cherry-picked to justify a course of action. And, when one set of bullshit reasons are debunked, they're immediately replaced with a different excuse.
3/ So, in the case of Iraq, when the "45 minutes" claim was debunked, it was dropped by Blair/Campbell etc, and replaced with some other piece of fiction.
4/ We're seeing the same with covid.
"It's 70% more contagious"
"Can we see the data?"
"OK, it's not 70% more contagious, but it's more contagious."
It's the same structure. And it's equally obvious that the narrative is bullshit.
So why the lies?

5/ That's the bit I don't understand. And that's the bit that worries me.
Multiple western nations just fucked their economies beyond repair. And they did it based on a nonsensical narrative that in no way fits the data.
So what's the payoff?

6/ If it was just money, surely some countries (like France & Germany with Iraq) would have told them to go get fucked.
So is there some huge narrative here that makes destroying society worthwhile?
That worries the crap out of me.

7/ And if there is a huge narrative, then lockdown is nothing more than a step towards what's really going to happen.
i.e. The real thing is likely to be at least 10x more disruptive than lockdown.
