We are a grassroots campaign of policemen in support of @UKLabour under the new leadership of @Keir_Starmer. We hope to begin campaigning in the new year and we've excited to announce ourselves tonight.

We believe that the past decade has shown us who are the real champions of the police. When the Tories' austerity agenda left our police underfunded and unprepared, it was Labour who stood up for us and campaigned against the cuts.

Despite the recent controversies over the nature of the police and attacks against us, we believe in bringing together everyday police officers and the progressive movement. The police must come into the 21st Century and the labour movement must understand our concerns.

We've seen progress on both sides. We see police join pride events every year and see @Keir_Starmer come to our defence against attacks by anti-police orgs. Policemen aren't inherently right-wing and we want build bridges, not cause more divison in our society.

This progress vindicates our founding belief; that Labour values are police values and police values are Labour values. We need a society of safety tolerance and fair play. Only with a strong policeforce and a Labour government will that happen. Let's build the future together.
