Big, beautiful fixes for both Pandemic EBT and SNAP in the nutrition assistance section:
The bill identifies simplifying assumptions for Pandemic EBT --- including assuming that everyone under 6 is covered. This is a HUGE deal for getting additional nutrition resources to young kids.
Great job.
Great job.
Why does this matter? About 10 percent of parents with only young kids report their kids don't have enough to eat. Have been calling for targeted responses to this pop since March. Now it's really here.

Obviously thrilled that the 15 percent maximum benefit increase to SNAP has *finally* made it in. Six months is nothing to sniff at - but need to keep plugging away at auto triggers (including reforming work requirement waiver triggers...or just ending the WR)
Look! A provision to make it easier for households that have experienced employment loss to qualify for SNAP.
Not sure the student access provisions for SNAP are going to work as intended because their work requirement is not waived...but correct me if I'm wrong.
JK - it suspends the work requirement. Good! Not deleting because people need to know that the ABAWD work requirement and student work requirement are not the same animal. ABAWD has been suspended. Student heretofore has not.
