Between 2016 and 2020, the percentage of women candidates in gubernatorial and state legislative races saw a huge jump, from 25 percent to 32 percent.
Since 2012, there were *23* states that saw the proportion of women candidates increased by at least 10%.
Nevada saw the largest increase (26%!) and has basically reached gender parity in their candidates (49%).

In 2020, way more women ran as Democratic candidates than as Republican candidates, regardless of their incumbency status.
In 2020 Congressional races, women candidates outraised men on average, while also nearly closing the gap in state-level contests.
In 2020, state-level women candidates relied heavily on women donors who gave 46% of their donations to women candidates. Men donors only gave 24% of their contributions to women candidates.
