I have a bit dark skin since my childhood (I was gora until 4) because I never hesitated with playing sports under a scorching sun too. Many people including my czns used to call me kalay, yar dhoop main na khela kar, Ahmad tu to kaala h, moo dho ja k, Ahmad kooray wala lgta.
And mazay ki bat once my relative gifted me a "Fair and handsome cream" wo Shahrukh Khan wali, I started feeling so bad after this. Aba b mazak main kah dete thy, but that is bardasht.

Yar the point is, if someone has more melanin it doesn't make him ugly or inferior to someone who is gora.
