One thing you rarely see anyone admit is that most of the Obama years were terrible for lower income people and the Trump years until covid were significantly better. And the people most likely to vote based on what they find offensive or falling into some category of -ism are not the people who are typically going to recognize this....
I don't think Trump was the entire reason for the economy under him although he did a few useful things and I don't think Obama was the entire reason for the poor economy under him although he did a few not so useful things. But people's actual experience matters...
But how can someone vote for someone who says offensive things or likes that problematic statue! Have you ever talked to ordinary people? Not every community in America is a yale campus. (yale is problematic too)
