While #600IsNotEnough, I feel better today as a single mom (Thread).
Because one side fought and won, securing $600 per child as well.
Because one side fought and won rent assistance
Because one side fought and won to extend the eviction moratorium.
Because one side fought and won more money for SNAP.
Because one side fought and won $300 weekly unemployment insurance
Because one side fought and won Emegency Broadband Benefit for all the kids struggling to go to school remotely with poor digital infrastructure.
Because one side fought and won more child tax credit money.
Because one side fought and won more earned income tax credit money.
Because one side fought and defeated the liability shield.
Because one side fought and won Pell Grant expansion.
Some of the benefits are hard to feel without having kids. Is it enough? No, of course not. Biden is calling it a down payment and if we win GA, we can expand on it in January.
But damn people, stop letting yourselves be played. There is one man stopping more relief from coming, and his name is Mitch McConnell.
