1) So what happened is that Mustafa announced his ebook in a simple tweet
And he earned $630 from just the pre-orders
While having only 900 followers
I asked him for an interview, he agreed, and we talked on a LIVE call in Discord

2) During the live call, Mustafa revealed his thought process and several interesting strategies.
I specifically wanted to know what he suggests to others who want to replicate his success.

3) The first thing Mustafa did was test his idea 
He put out a tweet explaining that as a freelancer, he's been finding clients since 5 years via cold email outreach.
Then he asked his followers if they would be interested in an ebook on cold email!

4) On December 10th, Mustafa wrote "I have over 5 years of experience getting freelance writing clients via cold emailing".
And: "If I write a short ebook detailing it, would you pay $10 for it?"
With only 900 followers, this tweet had 85 likes and a lot of engagement

5) Only 6 days later, he had already created:
- Ebook cover
- Title
- Sales page
The first 30 orders were on a discount and he sold them in under 17 hours!

6) In the following hours after that, 22 more pre-orders came in.
Total:
- 52 sales
- $630
- Under 48 hours

So I wanted to learn from Mustafa what his strategy was to make hundreds of dollars

7) So Mustafa's first tip is this:
Test your product idea first
That's why he asked his followers first if they'd even be interested in buying a $10 ebook on cold emailing.
But that still doesn't explain how so many of his followers bought the ebook!

8) Think about it:
- 900 followers
- 52 sales
That means 5.8% of his followers PRE-ORDERED his ebook!!

9) When I asked Mustafa exactly this question he had a very interesting answer.
He said: "Compare 2kg of muscle with 2kg of fat. The fat has much more mass than the muscle - but it's actually the exact same weight."
Then he continues: "That's how it is on Twitter, too."

10) He added: "Some accounts have a lot of followers but it's all fat. Other accounts are smaller but it's a muscle."
Mustafa finished with: "I always focused on building a follower base that will be like a muscle."
In other words:

11) To be fair, Mustafa also mentioned that he recognizes the advantages of having a large following.
But in the end it boils down to this:
Why have 10k followers when nobody buys from you? When nobody clicks your links? When nobody engages with you?

12) So Mustafa's next tip is this:
Don't chase new followers, focus on building a stronger relationship with your current followers.
In other words: Cut fat, build muscle.
But that leads to a follow-up question: How exactly do you do this??

13) During our live call, I asked Mustafa:
"For the listeners of this call, what is ONE thing that they can do, to build a strong bond with their followers like you did?

14) Mustafa's strategy was simple: DMs.
And not just any DMs, he uses Welcome DMs.

15) So his next tip is this:
Send a Welcome DM to every new follower.
But he has two very important rules:
1. Do not send automated messages, always write them yourself and make them personalized.
2. Never sell in your welcome message or first few conversations!

16) He said that he's not on Twitter to obsess over his followers number.
He's here to create friendships, meet people, and build a network.
So far, he has about 50 friends who regularly chat with him or who had a cool conversation with him.

That's right: 52 pre-orders for his ebook.
Here is one more thing that Mustafa did:
When he put out his tweet linking to the pre-order pages, he sent that tweet to all his friends in DMs!

18) And this is Mustafa's final tip:
Send your most important promotional tweet to your friends.
Everything he does is based on genuine, mutual relationships.

19) Here is what we learned from Mustafa:
Test your idea first
Build relationships with your current followers, don't chase after new followers
Use Twitter DMs to send short & personalized Welcome Messages to your new followers
Send important tweets to friends
