This is going to upset some people, but:
Ryan Pace should 100% be back next season as the GM. I will bang on the table for this for the next few weeks until a decision is officially made.
Let’s talk about it (thread)

Let’s talk about it (thread)
Let’s start with the obvious one
Mitch Trubisky
Maybe he’s actually..... decent? If we’ve seen anything these last few weeks, it’s what Mitch can do when he is used properly. Sure, Mahomes/Watson will always hang around Pace’s neck, but Mitch is starting to show what he’s got

What about the other first round misses?
Kevin White just couldn’t stay healthy. I’m not sure how you can put that on Pace
Leonard Floyd never came to fruition in Chicago, but has flipped the switch in LA, showing that the talent was there all along

The other thing people love to dump Pace for is the OL
I have two things to say about that:
Sam Mustipher and Alex Bars
Two OL that are the future of that unit, both UDFAs found by Pace. Add in Cody Whitehair and James Daniels, and that is a solid crop of OL delivered by Pace

There’s really two moves that stand out to me about Pace that bother me. The first is signing Robert Quinn. That being said, I get why he went after him. The one that really hurts for me is resigning Trevathan over Kwit or KPL. That is probably the worst mistake Pace has made IMO
So we’ve talked about the mistakes, but what about the successes?
-Jordan Howard (drafting him then letting him walk at the right time)
-Eddie Jackson
-Tarik Cohen
-Roquan Smith
-James Daniels
-Anthony Miller (who I still buy as a legit talent)
-Bilal Nichols
-David Montgomery!

But wait, there’s more:
-Duke Shelley (looks like he can play)
-Eddie Goldman
-Adrian Amos
-The entire 2020 draft class
-Khalil Mack (landing him/winning the trade)
-Letting the right guys walk (HHCD, Bryce Callahan, Cam Meredith, Adrian Amos, Prince Amukamara, Alshon Jeffery)

But wait, there’s more:
-The UDFA list (Cam Meredith, RRH, Alex Bars, Sam Mustipher, Bryce Callahan)
-Allen Robinson
-Akiem Hicks
-Danny Trevathan (the first time around)
-Prince Amukamara
-Kyle Fuller (aggressively matching GBs offer sheet)

So for me, there’s a LONG list of successes with a few misses. However, I feel like most of the misses are not as bad as people think they are
Pace has found some real talent in the draft, FA, and in UDFA. To me, I think he’s done enough to stay in place for the time being
