2/8 COVID-19 was associated with higher risk of acute kidney injury, dialysis, insulin use, severe septic shock, vasopressor use, pulmonary embolism, deep venous thrombosis, stroke, acute myocarditis, arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death, liver abnormalities, and rhabdomyolysis.
3/8 COVID-19 is associated with higher risk of death, mechanical ventilation, ICU admission, and longer hospital stays.
4/8 Excess deaths were most pronounced among older adults, Black people, and people with obesity, chronic kidney disease, and dementia

5/8 The findings were robust to challenge in sensitivity analyses
6/8 Take home: In hospitalized people, COVID-19 is associated with a broad range of extrapulmonary clinical manifestations affecting various organs including kidney, heart, liver, endocrine system, etc.
