I know there’s a lot of negativity surrounding the club right now...
So this is thread is on Mikel Arteta’s job compared to that of Jurgen Klopp when he arrived at Liverpool

First of let me start by saying I’m not in any way trying to compare Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp as managers. I’m only trying to compare the tasks they had at their various teams.
Let’s start by looking at Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. Klopp was appointed as Liverpool manager on the 8th of October 2015 replacing Brendan Rodgers after a dismal run of 1 win 6 games. Klopp just like Arteta was brought in mid season. So how did he fare in that half season?
Klopp began his reign with a 0-0 draw against Sp*rs. And although in that half season there were few highs and lows he could only manage an 8th place finish missing out on Europe...
Klopp that season took Liverpool to 2 finals against City(in the capital one cup final) and Sevilla(in the Europa league final) where they were defeated in both...
At this point after losing 2 finals and missing out on Europe would it have been right for Liverpool to sack Klopp?

They backed him in the following transfer window with the likes of Mane, Wijnaldum and Matip. Three positions that were vital for Liverpool the previous season...So how did Liverpool fare with Klopp that season?
They achieved what they set out to do finishing 4th and achieving UCL football. Did they stop there? Of course not. Within the next 3 seasons with further backing and the signings of players like of Salah, Van Dijk and Allison, Liverpool won the league and UCL...
Who would’ve thought a manager would be a massive success when he’s properly backed?
Now let’s look at Mikel Arteta... Arteta took over on the 20th of December 2019 from Emery and just like Liverpool’s case it was due to a run of poor results. So how did Arteta fare that season?

Arteta likewise had some ups and downs in terms of results and just like Klopp he could only take the team to an 8th place finish. We also suffered a disappointing exit from the Europa league.
But that season as well, Arteta lead the team to our 14th Fa cup victory putting some positivity into a season that had been filled with negativity for most times.
Apart from the FA cup win, Arteta also showed he could beat the top teams/Managers, doing so by beating the likes of Klopp, Ole, Pep, Ancelotti, Nuno and Lampard.
At this point surely it would be right to back the manager in every way possible?

Was he backed properly this window? No he wasn’t. The club didn’t make enough sales which had a major impact on the incomings at the club. Although we got the likes of Gabriel and Partey. That was clearly not enough...
For example look at Arteta’s first lineup in charge of Arsenal as compared to the lineup in our league game at home against Burnley... how much has actually changed? It’s still the same average players.
Also in comparison look at Liverpool’s... Jurgen Klopp’s first lineup in charge in comparison to his current lineup... it’s clear Klopp has been massively backed by the Liverpool owners.
I know the results haven’t been great at all this season and there’s a genuine reason for the negativity and criticism going around from the fans. But from this thread it’s clear to see Klopp didn’t build this Liverpool side in 1 season.
It took several windows for him to get this Liverpool side to where they are today. I still believe in Mikel Arteta 100% and I’m sure he’ll get it correct. Let’s continue to back the manager
