i have no idea how to start this thread but this is about haikyuu's team banners and how furudate is a genius (this contains spoilers)

all the banners symbolizes the team, whether or not the player's personality is a direct opposite of it (Johzenji) or if they are exactly what they say (Date Ko) it's always there, it's always been a part of each players personality and how they play

Furudate knows this and they are a genius for using it, it adds a layer of complexity that is truly phenomenal

and the way Furudate used it as a way to end character's arcs are amazing, it's like he's saying "look at them, they've grown a lot, but they're still the same as they were in high school", starting with Hoshiumi at Ch. 399

Kamomedai's banner translates to "Habit is second nature", Korai's habit of challenging everyone has become his second nature and he the result of this is him becoming more and more powerful which resulted in him becoming a master of aerial battles

the next person shown with the banner is Itachiyomi's ace, "Effort" a word that describes Sakusa perfectly

Sakusa is the kind of person to always put some effort in everything, even though he knows that he's one of the gifted, he still works hard to become better at volleyball, in this play, he was the one who recieved the ball and he was the one who spiked it as well.

Fukurodani's and Shiratorizawa's banner, like all the other player banners shown, is perfect.

Kuroo is the only one who isn't a volleyball player that was shown with a banner behind him, because even though he isn't a volleyball player anymore, he still connects everyone as the Sports Promoter.

Inarizaki's banner is by far my favorite, and Atsumu is also my second favourite character.

Atsumu doesn't need memories, everything he's ever done is etched on his muscles, he doesn't let the past weigh him down, he doesn't think about the fact that hinata beat him back in high school, there's only now, and right now they need to win.

Johsai's banner was the last one showed alongside Oikawa, and it is self explanatory, the way they used to rule the court yet they were defeated always by Shiratorizawa, even then Oikawa didn't give up, and now he's back, stronger than ever, and is about to rule the court again

And lastly, Karasuno's banner, "Fly", a single word, THE single word, a single word yet ever so powerful.
