For the first time since 2015, TTP claims an attack in Mamozay, Orakzay agency, the hometown of ISKP founding leadership, Shaikh Maqbool & Hafiz Saeed Khan. Orakzay was the basecamp of Hakimullah & the stronghold of TTP till TTP-Orakzay defected and founded ISKP in late 2014. 1/5

Does it mean that defections have started back into TTP of its former cadres who joined ISKP previously? It is plausible, especially when almost all of Orakzay ISKP leadership are killed or surrendered/arrested, like Saeed Khan, Maqbool, Aslam Farooqi, etc. 4/5
TTP has not yet announced any defections into its ranks of ISKP splinters, it could possibly mean that might members of ISKP have individually joined back TTP. It was reported that an ex-ISKP commander from Khyber joined TTP-HuA targeted in a Pak drone strike in Kunar in Jul. 5/5
