My (unpopular?) opinion on the hand reaching in Kamino incident (ch. 90) and Bkg’s character growth:

Even if it’s not Kirishima who reached out, Bakugo would still go and take that other person’s hand. (Although, there IS a reason why Deku said it has to be Kirishima)
First of all Bakugo is logical, so as long as he can get out of there and not hinder All Might from fighting AFO, he would take that route. He also said this after he was rescued:
He also went past the stage of “I’d rather lose than receive help” in ch. 62, so I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t choose death over taking someone else’s hand.
But the members of the rescue mission (other than Kirishima) have history of making bakugo feel inferior and insecure in one way or another. And that’s why Deku said everyone else is ダメ (dame) “not good”
If they make Bkg having to take the other member’s hand, it would be the same as forcing him to chew and swallow a level 10 spicy food when his tolerance is only at level 6. Which he’d still do, but would make him suffer (which should not happen if he’s mature enough)
Deku being able to analyze and made an entire plan, down to the details of who should reach out to Bkg in order to really “save” him (not only physically, but also to reduce Bkg’s mental burden) further shows his quality as someone who will be the greatest hero.
But even Horikoshi said that this scene “was a bit sad” and it made him want to tell Deku to “work harder”, but Deku ended up choosing the safest option. (which I personally agree because it was not the time to test “will kacchan take my hand” considering the situation)
Whereas for Bkg, taking Kirishima’s hand (happily) showed his growth of being able to receive help, BUT as a hero he should be able to rely on ALL of his comrade (without feeling inferior), which then enables him to reach his hand out to help ANYONE (without feeling superior)
And that’s why, his “RISING” is symbolized by him willing to take little Deku’s hand in vol. 29 cover (with soft expression, showing sincere regret, no hate, no anger), which is the hand that triggered his insecurity in the first place.
It also symbolizes that he made peace with his weakness, instead of trying to mask those weaknesses with his superiority complex. So as of now, he can take and reach out to anyone’s hand without feeling inferior nor superior.
Bkg being able to reach this stage of maturity as a character was because he HIMSELF decided to humble down and learn from people around him (of course with the support from his classmates, teachers and mentors).
I hope all fans, including shippers 👀 could appreciate his character growth without making it ONLY abt shipping. Headcanons are cute and fun but let’s not confuse other readers with those headcanons especially those who are not familiar with shipping
