Superb piece on Mourinho's in-game management during his first Chelsea spell. This is the one area of his overall management package that I feel no-one can criticize or fault him for. https://central.bet.co.za/2020/11/25/mourinhos-genius-at-chelsea-how-his-tactical-tweaks-turned-matches/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
Even as overall performances dipped for Manchester United during the year of 2018, United still racked up points during the 2nd half of 17/18 & pulled a few results out of the hat during the early part of 18/19. Remember United being termed as "2nd Half FC" during late 2018..
Few notable examples being: Lingard coming off the bench to score the winner against Conte's Chelsea in 2018, the comeback v Crystal Palace in the week after & bringing on Fellaini, who would score the winner against Arsenal in April.
And in 18/19: that game against Newcastle at OT where he flipped systems as a reaction to being 2-0 down & would go on to register a 3-2 win; the game against Bournemouth where United came back to win 2-1 after first half battering where he brings on Rashford,
who scored the winner, & Herrera, to ensure that United maintained their dominance in that 2nd half fight back. AND of course, the UCL game against Juventus at the Allianz Arena where he brought on Mata & Fellaini who both made the difference as United came back to win 2-1.
