Washington Post reports that the current plan calls for stimulus checks of $600 per person, adults and children in a household alike, to begin phasing out at $75,000 in 2019 income.

Why? If you're still making 75k/yr....if Covid hasn't hurt you, you don't need the money. (1)
Is this more of the inane trickle down mentality? We know that for folks who're doing fine, the first round went right into savings and other illiquid assets. Sure as hell not stimulating the economy. (2)
And what the hell good does stimulating the economy do for people who are out of work due to Covid? Why not give more to those with demonstrated need?
