Largest cause of this evil cultural revolution is not the insane radicals nor the cunning super-wealthy/powerful who support ‘em but the people who surged into the upper middle class last few decades w/o deeper meaning/purpose, a language of virtue, or a religion to deal w/guilt.

They have a desperate and all too human need not only to process guilt but to find some way as strivers to the top and lovers of oligarchy to signal their status. They have the anxiety that comes of wanting to separate from the pack below and climb or be accepted by those above.

Because of this from both sides they also the most psycho-socially vulnerable—and since they have been hollowed out by poor and fuzzy formation when it comes to deeper matters they are pushovers when the push to fill that hollowness comes to shove.
